Solved - "Adobe Failed to Return a Video Frame" by Adobe Premiere Elements

December 15, 2009

I was using Adobe Premiere Elements for editing AVCHD files captured on Sony HDR SR7. When I tried to "Share", Adobe Premiere Elements would give me the error "Adobe Failed to Return a Video Frame".

For many days I searched for a solution. I tried searching for a gap in the timeline and also tried to have "Black Video" that spanned the entire timeline to make sure that there are no gaps that I am missing. These were the suggestions give on videomaker.com support forum.

However, in my case the solution was to make sure that I do not do "Log Off" > "Switch User". I was doing this in order to keep my screen private while I was away from my work table. Once I stopped doing "log off", this error disappeared.

On similar lines, I would assume that having a screen saver kick in might also cause issues. So make sure that your screen saver is disabled.
