Honda City VTEC
December 19, 2005
I chose to buy a Honda car because, I've driven Accord before and found it to be quite satisfactory. In fact I was more than happy with the Accord.
So, when I moved to India I decided to stick with Honda and go for the recently released Honda City VTEC. Once I decided on the color, I had to book it with about Rs. 30K as down payment. It took about a month for the car to be available for delivery. On the road it came to about 8.7lakhs. That is Rs. 8,70,000. This includes road tax, insurance & extended warranty.
The dealer for Honda in Trivandrum is Peninsular Honda at Karyavattom. They provide you with pretty good service. They did have a delay of about 10 days from the date they initially promised, but overall, the transaction went very smoothly.
Unlike the US, there are some tough restrictions on the service schedule. You HAVE to do the first three services within the days/mileage limit otherwise the warranty will be affected.
I've been driving the car for about a month now, and am pretty satisfied with it.
