Google - a difference it makes
August 16, 2005
That is definitely true for employees of Google who must have profited nicely from its IPO - but that's not what Google did for me. Google made a difference for me through its Adwords program.
For those who are not familiar with Google Adwords, it is that which causes the appearance of sponsored results when you search for anything on Google. That means companies & advertisers pay Google to display their ads. This is a major source of revenue for Google.
Anyone who wants to advertise anything can use this. Google Adwords is quite simple to set up and use.
They way it works is like this. When someone searches for a term or phrase on Google, Google shows up paid advertisements that are relevant to that search. If someone happens to click on it, the advertiser pays Google. The advertiser gets traffic to his site.
The way the relevance of the ad is determined is through "keywords". Keywords are terms and phrases that the advertiser can specify for which he/she wants the ad to appear. The advertiser also needs to specify a CPC (cost per click). This is the maximum that he is willing to pay Google for a click.
More on Google Adwords later. I use Google Adwords for affiliate marketing. It is a powerful tool. The key is to know how to effectively use Google Adwords. When used effectively, Google Adwords can be extremely rewarding for affiliate partnerships.
